Each person can do at least one thing very well. Whether it is cooking, playing a sport, writing, or any other of the numerous activities there are, everyone can do one thing well. While I am not the greatest cook I am an expert at making Oreo balls. The only reason I am able to make these is because it requires a minimal amount of cooking and allows me to eat them afterwards!
The Oreo ball recipe calls for three ingredients. These three ingredients include; Oreos, Philadelphia cream cheese, and white chocolate chips. To make these wonderful treats one also needs a blender, a double boiler to melt the white chocolate in, and a utensil that allows the excess white chocolate to drip from the ball. After gathering all of the ingredients and baking utensils one can begin creating these wonderfully tasty, little treats.
First crush one package of regular Oreos, not double stuffed. To achieve this stick the package of Oreos into a food processor and crush until they are tiny pieces that lack chunks. Next, take a one, eight ounce package of Philadelphia cream cheese and place it in the microwave for thirty seconds. Make sure the cream cheese softens so that it will easily mix with the crushed Oreos.
After the two ingredients are prepared place the Oreo crumbs and the cream cheese into a mixer. Allow them to mix for a few minutes. If after a few minutes pass and there is still white in the mix, keep blending. Blend the mixture evenly until there is no white in the mix.
Following this take the mixture and roll into balls. The balls should be about one-inch in size. When finished rolling the balls place them onto a cookie sheet. The amount of balls on each cookie sheet does not matter as long as there is a little space between each of them. After rolling all of the balls and putting them on the cookie sheet, place them in the freezer for at least two hours. Placing them in the freezer allows the Oreo balls to harden and makes it easier for the white chocolate to quickly harden and mold to the balls.
When sufficient time has elapsed for the Oreo balls to freeze begin to melt the white chocolate chips. Use a double broiler to do this. Put the stove on medium to low heat and place the white chocolate chips into the double boiler. Allow for the white chocolate chips to fully melt but do not let them burn. As soon as the chocolate melts take it off the burner and remove the Oreo balls from the freezer.
When the pan is off the burner, one by one, drop an Oreo ball into it. Roll the Oreo ball in the white chocolate so that white chocolate completely covers it. Then lift the Oreo ball with a utensil and allow it to drip for a few seconds. Make sure that the utensil you are using is one that will allow the excess white chocolate to drip off and go back into the pan. Repeat this process until all of the Oreo balls are covered in white chocolate and place each of them back onto the cookie sheet. When finished dipping, place the Oreo balls back into the freezer for a few minutes. Do this so that they will harden.
After the balls have hardened, take them out of the freezer. They are now ready to be eaten!
