SAMMY’S PIZZA AND RESTAURANT. 2812 London Road. Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Opening their doors in 1957 Sammy’s continues to be a family favorite. Although the restaurant moved a few times since opening in 1957 their service and their food remains excellent. While Sammy’s serves all types of food they are recognized for their tasty pizza.

A bar and a restaurant, connected by a short, small hallway, create two extremely different eating environments, serving the same food in one location.

The door to the bar opens and customers can sit wherever they feel like, at the bar, or the tall tables, or at the booth in the back. The smoky bar holds many television sets that are tuned in to different stations to appease a variety of customers. The bar, stocked with any kind of drink one would like, runs the length of the side wall. With a quick hand the bar tender mixes your drink and you are able to sit back and relax. The bar tender’s friendliness and fast service brings customers back to Sammy’s time after time, generating the regulars.

As customers walk in, bright colors and scenes of Italy decorate the wall of the restaurant. The welcoming and smiling hostess walks customers to their table. As soon as the customer’s are seated the hostess hands a menu out to each person. The menu is filled with numerous kinds of pizza. But before you can decide on one the smell of pizza dough, sauce, melted cheese, and meat drift towards your noise and brings you to the streets of Italy themselves… the water beats against the canal, the couple kissing in the gondola makes the corners of your mouth turn upward into a smile, the hustle and bustle of Italians shuffling on the street, the expansive, blueness of the Mediterranean Sea, and the pizza and pasta from local pizzerias and restaurants wafting towards you…

The waitress walking with a bouncy step stops at the head of the table. The delicious looking pizza in the waitress’s hand puts your daydream on hold. The waitress places the hot pizza in the middle of the table and the white plates in front of you. With energy and a friendly smile she tells you to enjoy your meal and to let her know if you need anything. You foolishly look around before snatching a few pieces and lay them on your plate.

You open your mouth and take a large bite of the melting cheese, the juicy pepperoni, and the red, light, savory sauce. The smaller, square pieces enable you to grab piece after piece. The tasty blend of spices, the fresh, natural ingredients intensify the flavor of the pizza. The flavor of the pizza confirms that Sammy’s makes the dough and cuts only the freshest ingredients daily. After devouring an entire large pizza your stomach is content and full.

The waitress checks back in, she smiles and you realize she knows exactly what you are thinking. Wow! That pizza was amazing. I am definitely going to come back here again soon. She hands you the check and says that she hope you enjoyed your meal and to come and visit again soon. The price on the check seems like a reasonable price for such incredible pieces of pizza.
Being one of the best pizzas you will ever taste it satisfies the stomach and will make anyone want to come back for another pizza. The friendly service, the atmosphere of the bar and restaurant, and the savory pizza make this restaurant a wonderful choice when craving pizza!
